Admissions

Start Your Mental Health Care With Clarity and Support

Beginning treatment can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re already struggling. Our admissions process is designed to be clear, welcoming, and straightforward—so you don’t have to navigate anything alone.

We offer admissions for our Mental Health PHP and IOP programs in Portland, Maine, with flexible scheduling and a team that will guide you through every step.

You do not need prior treatment, a diagnosis, or a referral to reach out. If you’re unsure where to begin, we’ll walk you through it.

How to Get Started

1. Call or Submit an Online Form

A member of our admissions team will gather a few basic details and help determine whether PHP or IOP may be the right starting point.

2. Complete a Brief Screening

We’ll ask about your current symptoms, safety, daily functioning, and any recent life events that may be affecting your mental health. This is conversational—not an exam.

3. Schedule an Intake Appointment

Once eligibility is established, we schedule your intake, which includes:

  • a clinical assessment
  • review of symptoms and history
  • discussion of treatment goals
  • determining the appropriate level of care (PHP or IOP)

Intakes can typically be completed quickly, depending on availability.

4. Begin Your Program

You’ll receive your schedule, program orientation, and your first-day plan. Our team ensures everything feels clear, manageable, and supportive before you start.

What We Look For During Admissions

Our programs are designed for adults who:

  • need more support than weekly therapy
  • are experiencing increasing symptoms or instability
  • are navigating major stressors or life transitions
  • would benefit from structured, therapeutic programming
  • want to improve functioning and emotional steadiness
  • may need access to medication management

We are not a crisis or inpatient facility, but we can help guide you if a different level of care is needed.

Do I Need a Diagnosis?

No. Many clients come to us feeling overwhelmed, “not like themselves,” or unsure what they’re experiencing. Our clinical team can help clarify what symptoms look like and determine the right level of care.

Medication & Psychiatric Support

Medication management is available as part of treatment when clinically appropriate. If medications are already prescribed, our team will coordinate with you to ensure continuity and safety.

Insurance & Payment

We accept most major insurance plans. Our admissions team verifies benefits, explains coverage clearly, and reviews any out-of-pocket costs before treatment begins—so there are no surprises.

If you’re unsure whether your plan is accepted, we can check for you in minutes.

How Quickly Can I Start?

Availability varies, but we do everything possible to accommodate admissions quickly—especially for individuals experiencing acute stress, worsening symptoms, or functional decline.

What to Expect on Your First Day

Your first day includes:

  • meeting your primary clinician
  • receiving your program schedule
  • orientation to the space and structure
  • introduction to group expectations
  • review of your initial goals and stabilization plan

We make sure the process feels comfortable, respectful, and unrushed.

Supporting a Loved One

If you’re reaching out on behalf of someone else, we can guide you through:

  • how to encourage treatment
  • what information we can share
  • how to support them before they start
  • what to expect during the program

Family members often play a meaningful role in helping someone take the first step.
